Brainiac Attack!

Braniac Attack is what we do each week in my gifted and talented third - fifth grade classes! My students are brilliant learners and they are always looking for an engaging challenge. My school is a small, high poverty, rural school in SC. My students are absolutely a delight, and I am the lucky one to get to teach them each week!

Now Donors, here comes the downer . . . My braniacs need something to attack with their imaginations, and I am lacking imaginative items for them. They want to be innovative and use their imaginations to design, so I need your help!

Here is what I think will inspire and delight my gifted learners . . . Lego design blocks! These items help foster visual and spatial learning as well as creative design. The critical thinking that comes when creating with these blocks truly requires higher order thinking skills! My students will be engaged in their learning, and they will have a chance to use their imaginations in ways that they are just tapping into.

So, please donor/donors, consider making a difference with my amazingly brilliant students. You might just end up being responsible for fostering a love of design in a child that ends up becoming the next designer of the 2220 Olympic Stadium. My students will be forever GRATEFUL!
