Come Together for Carpet Time

My students need a carpet to sit on during Morning Meeting. Morning Meeting is a time when we come together in the morning to discuss calendar routines, daily schedule, and sharing. The carpet defines space for the students. The carpet will be a friendly and inviting place for the students to sit when they come to our morning meeting. The carpet will be our main center for instruction in my classroom. The students would love to get together on a beautiful, colorful carpet!

I teach first grade general education. We are a high-need community. We are a magnet school, which means that we incorporate the arts into our curriculum.

My students are learning about personal space and general space in Physical Education and in the classroom. The carpet will define "general space" for my students. The carpet will act as a guide to set boundaries on where they can sit comfortably during carpet time.

This carpet will benefit my students because the carpet will give them a sense of belonging during our meeting times. It will define their space, and also bring them together as a group. It will help them feel more comfortable on the floor having a comfortable carpet to sit on.

Your help will ensure that my students feel a sense of belonging on the carpet during morning meeting. It will also give them a chance to be more comfortable on the floor since they'll be sitting on a carpet. The carpet will give them a sense of belonging and a sense of community on the carpet as they sit together to learn.
