With a little help from friends at donorschoose.org, my students can go from average writers to eloquent superstars!

I am a fourth grade teacher working with a diverse group of students in a large inner city school. I want to rally some excitement around this year's writing curriculum. However, my school uses the same curriculum guides for third and fourth grades, which means many of my lessons feel stale to my young audience (despite my best efforts at tweaking!)

Eureka! A solution! I want to inspire my students with some brand new lessons they've never seen before. A new writing "trait crate" will provide me with the resources and lesson ideas to motivate students to become stronger writers. I also want to put up a brand new star-themed bulletin board display that will showcase students' efforts at improving their writing craft throughout the year.

You can be a star, too! Your assistance with this project will allow students to be exposed to new ideas, improve their writing skills, and take pride in their work. Please consider helping us make "the sky the limit" during the 2008-2009 school year!
