Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Taking chances and making messes....that's what I want my kindergarteners to do when they are exploring new things, and learning in general. The students in my class live in an extremely high-need community and do not get the opportunity to explore beyond the "survival mode" of their family situations.

All dressed up but no where to go....the situation is opposite in our classroom. We have so many things we want to learn about, but no supplies to help get us there.

Our classroom needs science supplies to help transform kindergarteners into mad science explorers. With the minimal resources we currently have in our classroom, they have already shown excitement in exploring things they have limited background in such as the Solar System, Animals, Making Concoctions (Cooking), among many other topics. This project will benefit the students by allowing them to continue exploring these concepts and make connections that will benefit their overall learning.

You can make the difference in the lives of these kindergarten children. They have found a spark for the love of learning and I want that spark to become a bonfire.
