I am the teacher of a classroom full of wonderful second grade children. The majority of my students come from low-income homes. However, despite their home situations they are eager to learn and express themselves creatively through their school work.

My students love to create. It doesn't matter what it is, they just love to make new things. Often times our school supplies are the only supplies that they have to create new things. Since the beginning of our school year, we have been working on the Daily 5 for Language Arts. During the Daily 5, the students read independently, buddy reading, listening, writing, and word work. They have shown a great interest in new ways to do word work. Also, my students are always asking for materials to make book covers and to illustrate their books. Additionally, my students are still in the concrete and representational stages in math. They need to have hands-on materials to explore their learning.

If our classroom had a Cricut Expressions machine we would be able to have many great educational activities using a great tool. My class could use the Cricut machine to practice spelling words, vocabulary words, make books, create bookmarks, and create projects. Lately my students have been asking for different ways to make posters in their "book clubs." A Cricut would be perfect for this. The Cricut would be used to create math equations and problems, as well as assist children in exploring math concepts in a fun and exciting way. It would also help our classroom create bulletin boards to showcase our hard work and successes.

With your help, my student's creativity can reach new heights. They will take pride and ownership in their school work. You can make it possible for my students to be "Crazy for a Cricut!" The possibilities are endless for my students when using the Cricut machine. They will definitely go "crazy" when this door is opened for them.
