I teach 25 darling 2nd graders in a school that is changing from moderate income families to lower income families. We have close to 1,000 students in our K-6 school. The parents are very supportive and volunteer when they can.

On days when the weather is extremely cold,rainy or snowy the children spend recesses indoors. I would like to provide more materials for them to actively use during these indoor times.

I'm requesting building blocks, tiles and geometric manipulatives to foster geometry skills as well as develop social skills during the times they share the materials.

My students need and want to be active during these indoor days. I want them to be involved in learning and not be a passive audience. Thank you for considering my proposal.
