Letters and Sounds go hand in hand; help our classroom in any way you can! I teach a curious bunch of 20 diverse Kindergartners in a school with a high Hispanic population. Specifically in my classroom, I have a cluster of children whose first language is one other than English. Six of my seven English Language Learners speak Spanish; one speaks Haitian Creole.

By the end of Kindergarten, ALL students are expected to know all 26 letters of the alphabet (upper/lowercase) and their sounds. Learning letters and sounds is quite challenging for English Language Learners. For English-speaking students who enter Kindergarten with limited letter knowledge, learning 26 letters and sounds is daunting too!

Through hands-on objects in the Alphabet Sounds tubs students will learn: letter identification, sorting, sounds, and vocabulary. This gift will be especially helpful for emerging readers (native or non-native speakers of English) who are beginning to make connections between sounds and symbols.

Your help will make it possible for my students to gain letter knowledge and give emerging readers and writers the confidence to be successful life-long learners. Thank you for your commitment to education and your interest in children's futures!
