"I teach visual art grades preK-8 4 days a week and grades 7-12 one day a week at our city's alternative middle and high school for students who have been adjudicated or who have aged out of their grade level. They are high poverty schools with 100% eligibility for free school lunch funding. It has been labeled a school in need of improvement.
No examples of art work! We do not have any way to show examples of historic or contemporary art work or movies about artists. We don't even have a color printer to make color copies of work! My students love the art books I bring in from the library. I would love to be able to share large scale version of the work and show slide shows of their work that I photograph year round but have no one to show it!
All we need is one LCD projector and I can open up the world to my students! They will be able to see the historic art work of the artists that have come before them. They will be able to experience the lives and cultures of the artists and periods of art history. It is my hope that they will be able to make quick time movies to express themselves and document their experiences.
You will expose my students to the endless possibilities that art holds. By seeing what others have created it will empower them to dream beyond their horizons and create art they never thought possible. They will be inspired, provoked, filled with joy, angered, saddened and educated through being able to use the projector to view other artists work and their own
My students need a LCD projector.
The cost of this proposal is $990, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ."
There are not enough words to express my gratitude for your generosity. Without your help I would not have been able to show my students the exciting abstract expressionistic world of Jackson Pollack. His images projected with the new LCD projector which you helped buy, inspired them to question artistic methods and explore the creative process in new and innovative ways. I know my future classes will be inspired through the images, and films I will be able to show them. You have helped open the door to countless worlds of art, culture and creative processes. Our school district has great financial challenges and the art program has suffered. Our budget was cut so severely this year that we have only received the most basic of consumable supplies. If donors like you did not exist so many students would miss opportunities to explore their world. When my students learned that you had all worked together to help purchase our LCD projector they expressed their amazement that you would do something for children you did not even know. You generosity has not only helped purchase this vital piece of equipment, but your actions have made my students think about how they can work together to achieve a common goal. You have been wonderful role models in a difficult time. I thank you with all my heart.
With gratitude, Ms. P.

How can I thank you all enough! Your generosity will open up the world to my students. We will be able to use technology on a daily basis in my classroom. It will impact students from 4 years old to 18 years old! I am so excited to be able to have my students see examples of great works of art on the big screen and to view what is currently happening in the art world, including their own works. They will be able to make and show quick time movies, their own slide shows, and I hope make presentations they will be able to show to their parents on report card conference nights. You will be empowering generations of young people! THANK YOU!! You have blessed us with your donations. I am forever grateful.
Reviewed the project essay and sent follow-up questions if needed.

"I gave to this project because... I grew up always knowing I wanted to be some sort of artist. I am now an Art Director and know firsthand the importance that art and art history has had in my life. I can't image a life without it."

"Hi Sara,
Thank you so much for the donation! Its one step closer to being able to have a projector to share all the incredible art that has come before us! I too grew up knowing I wanted to be some type of a artist and feel blessed to be working with kids to share my love of art and to show them the world through its art and the power they have in creating their own art.
thank you again!\Sue"

"I gave to this project because...the arts are a crucial part of life and just as important as well as necessary in the learning of math or english or history. One can see the world through art even if they never get a chance to leave their own neighborhood. "
