My students need 27 keyboard covers for the computers in the computer lab in order to practice typing without watching their fingers.

Students need to stop watching their fingers. I teach keyboarding to 6th and 7th grade students. To my surprise, the computer lab did not have any keyboard covers. Our school serves a community that is largely made up of lower income families, and there are so many fundraisers going on that adding more would take support away from other classes or activities. The school budget is watched very closely and I do not feel keyboard covers would reach the top of the list of items needed by teachers.

Currently the computer lab has no keyboard covers to prevent students from watching their fingers. My students are just learning to type and could greatly benefit from having keyboard covers to aid in learning the keyboard. Most of the students watch their fingers while they type. This actually slows the learning process and does not promote speed and accuracy while they are typing. I want my students to be successful when it comes to typing quickly and accurately, but feel they will not reach their full potential if they continue to watch their fingers.

My students would benefit from having keyboard covers such as Speedskin. A keyboard cover will cover the keyboard so students cannot see the letters as they type. Students will memorize the letter locations quickly and will be able to remember the location of letters for a longer period of time even without constant practice.

Your help will ensure my students will learn the keyboard and be able to use it with speed and accuracy. This will ensure they have the opportunity to compete in today's world of technology.
