This year I have a lot of rambunctious boys who are still learning self discipline. During math small group time, these students need to be involved in structured activities to maintain productivity. The Hands-On Math Listening Centers from LAKESHORE are exactly what we need. There are activities to practice skills like: • Reading analog and digital clocks • Sequencing events by time • Calculating time intervals • Estimating measurements • Measuring in inches and centimeters • Comparing measurements • Adding & subtracting with money The kids would benefit by having a Pretend & Play® Calculator Cash Register. This great big cash register is a real working solar-powered calculator with a credit card swipe, oversized buttons, and big number display. It won 23 awards for excellence. The cash drawer holds true-to-life bills and coins. Everyone would really like playing ‘store’ with this and I’d really like the practice they would get in coin identification, addition, subtraction, and place value. Also, we need a few sand timers for student use during games and whiteboard erasers. Time, measurement, and money are three skills that require a lot of practice. Please help my 6 and 7 year old kids get these materials. The truth is without the generosity of donors on this site, they won’t have these things.
