My students need 5 copies of 6 various Magic School Bus science books that we can read in small groups during science tutoring.

Have you ever tried to read a fifth grade science textbook? It is BORING! I teach fifth grade science in a large district in Texas. My classroom is a mix of on-level students and special need students. The only reading resource that we have currently is our textbook.

When a fifth grade student looks at their textbook, they only see words on a page, many words they can not even pronounce. Who really knows what xylem and phloem really are? My students do not. They love science, but the textbook scares them.

Mrs. Frizzle and the Magic School Bus series takes science and make it "kid-friendly". Their books use the same concepts that are taught in the large textbook, but make it colorful with pictures, captions, and let the children fell apart of the concept.

Your help will make it possible for my students to want to read about science. They will find a book that they enjoy and not realize they are learning at the same time.
