I teach third grade in a multicultural school. Many students do not speak English and have varied reading ability levels.
The state of Michigan decided Michigan History should be taught in third grade instead of fourth grade. I am in need of supplies. My school is buying new text books for our grade level, but trade books and picture books are not part of the curriculum.
I am in need of trade books and picture books that relate to Michigan. A wide variety of genres is helpful in making sure all students understand our state and how it was developed.
You will make it possible for my children to learn about the state of Michigan from a variety of resources. This way no child would be left behind. We participate in many different activities that require picture books and trade books and having the books on hand would greatly benefit the children. Students would be able to learn about Michigan from exciting trade books and gain valuable knowledge at the same time.
