An Apple Today Will Take Our Frustrations Away

My students need a new desktop computer that will not destroy their work and will better serve their educational needs.

I just transferred jobs to a wonderful building where I now teach a 4/5 gifted cluster. I am so blessed to have 24 students who are excited to learn everything that I offer them. I have spent hours planning this school year already, and I enjoy preparing lessons for this neat group. There is just one major technical challenge.

My classroom is a nice one, but it was never before used as a classroom so locating materials that I need has been a challenge. My students didn't even have desks until the first day of school! I do have wonderful parent support and that has helped locate a few needed items, like a radio and posters, decorations. But, the parents in my school have their own families to tend to so I do not like to ask very often. My biggest challenge currently is that the computers I was given are the oldest in the building. They are bulky, slow, and they usually boot us out and don't work. The new curriculum material that I build and save daily for future school years may or MAY NOT be there the next day. You can imagine my frustration with losing work that I spend hours preparing. My students are also experiencing this frustration because they are required to save documents that they create in our classroom for future necessity. The days that the computer acts up and destroys our work, we do not look forward to rebuilding what we already created. I just want to stop the madness of our work-eating computer as soon as possible! We want a different computer!

I am writing for an Apple Computer. That is what my family uses at home and I have never had a problem with it! Then, in our classroom, we can build assignments easily and fluently with no worries as to losing what was completed. We can save all of our materials easily. I know that the cost is great. That is why I am asking for your help. This computer that I am requesting seemed to be the least expensive one that offered all of the programs that we would hope to have to make our technological world complete!

I am excited to teach this group and I will do that to the best of my ability, with or without a new computer, but BOY would it be nice to have a functioning partner in this endeavor. My life and my students' lives would be delicious (apple reference)! Thank you for reading and considering my proposal. May your computer not freeze up on you today!!!
