I teach two classes of grade 6 World Cultures in a public middle school. This is a high need school with very low statewide test scores. These sixth graders are just beginning to learn about the world outside of their community and are discovering that it is a very rich, exciting and diverse world. They are very interested in discovering the world.

I would like to enrich my World Cultures curriculum with hands on art projects. We spend most days reading and writing to increase our test scores. Middle schoolers need hands on activities and my students especially are asking for these kinds of activities.

I need three cultural/global art kits with enough supplies and materials for 50 individual projects. These projects will reinforce our Latin America, South Asia and East Asia cultural units. Students will have the chance to be creative and learn more than just where countries are on a map.

Your help will make it possible for my grade six students to be creative, active and learn about art in the world cultures they are studying in their social studies class.
