Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

High energy, self-motivating, self-expression, describes my classroom. I teach Physical Education at a title I school in Oklahoma. My students range from Pre-K through 5th grade.

I only have 2 soft-skin balls in my classroom, and the difference those 2 balls make is unbelievable. Though limited, students are not afraid of being hit with soft skin-balls. They show assertiveness and they are more aggressive when using these balls.

Unlike traditional balls, gator skin ball's incorporates dodging, chasing, fleeing, catching, aiming, throwing, kicking, jumping, and landing. The list is endless. With these balls students are able to feel comfortable when playing. Some students shy away and turn their head when playing with traditional playground balls because they are afraid of being stung by the ball. Nerf-ball's are not as fun to play with, because they don't generate enough speed. All students should get the chance to play some form of dodging games, because it builds character and it is extremely fun which allows all students to work-up a sweat.

Your donation will ensure that even the youngest child can develop skills and build confidence without the risk of injury. All students need a chance to learn body control, and with dodge ball alternative games, those skills come naturally and are inevitable. Thank you very much.
