Materials To Maximize Communication

My students need velcro dots, laminating pouches, a set of storytelling kits, speech therapy CDs, and 4 individual story kits, including "If You Give a Moose a Muffin".

Autistic children need a voice too! I am a speech therapist working with autistic children, ages 5-13, who are either non verbal or have limited verbal skills.

The children have limited verbal language if any at all. They struggle with letting others know if they are hungry, angry, sick or if they need the bathroom. They do enjoy learning with manipulatives or music.

We need laminating sheets and Velcro so that we can make communication books for our students. We modify a lot of our books so that they can also enjoy the stories that other children have. We try to make items the children can manipulate so that they can engage in the storytelling.

Your help will go along way in promoting communication with children and their peers, adults and family members as well as allow then to enjoy books, learning and reading like some of their peers do
