Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Passionate painters really need paints to paint on plates. I am the art teacher for a local charter school. I am doing an art project for fourth and fifth grades that involves painting cityscapes onto plates. I hope to get this project funded so that we can auction off the plates for a school fundraiser which would really benefit our school financially.

Unfortunately, with the budget cuts, we have virtually zero budget to buy the necessary paint markers needed to do this project. My students are dying to paint on plates, and they are looking forward to having the opportunity to have their parents bid on them so they can take them home and have them as special keepsakes from their elementary years, mementos that can be hung and displayed on family walls for years to come.

If we were to receive funds for the paint pens, all I would need to do is ask parents to bring in $1.50 to buy a plate for each child. Then we could learn all about cityscapes and make our own versions of our city on our plates. If the parents bid on these wonderful, colorful, creative works of art, the money we could raise could go toward hiring more staff needed to teach our children and run our school more efficiently.

Your help would ensure my students would have a beautiful piece of art that they could take great pride in creating-a piece that is so special it could be a family heirloom. Please help donate to this very exciting project, which will ultimately improve the quality of education for our students as it will help to raise money for our needy school. Thank you so very much!
