This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

ZIP ZIP ZOO! My kindergarteners are zipping through the alphabet and phonics too! We need a new library to see our studies through!

My kindergarten class has picked up momentum and is off running with reading! Unfortunately, our title one school has not been able to provide my kindergarten classroom with developmentally appropriate literature. Our small shelf unit is thinly stocked with overused and unrecognizable books. I have purchased books through various discount book stores, but it is hard to keep up with the little book voyagers I have in my classroom. They seem to read my books faster than imaginable, although they cherish every page, every picture. I have utilized our local library for individual student books, but would love for my students to engage themselves in our own personal classroom library that provides them with appropriately leveled books.

My spunky kindergarteners have not only plowed through our alphabet studies, but our phonics curriculum as well! They are super excited to begin their journey through reading. I would love to provide them with a comforting and spectacular classroom library that allows them to cozy up and read independently with an appropriately leveled book. The joy of reading is a fabulous hobby that starts with your first books.

The joy of reading will take these little ones many places, all through their educational years. Your help with this project will make it possible for my students to feel the delight of reading and engaging themselves in a mesmerizing story!
