I am a first grade full inclusion teacher in a small rural school. I have 22 students with various needs (Reading Recovery, Speech, CD, LD, MD, ODD, OT, PT). A majority of my students live on small family farms or in our small community where their parents work in small factory jobs.

Because of the small budget for our school, equipment and supplies are provided by teachers or grants we write. I am currently co-teaching with a teacher of special needs students so that more students can be mainstreamed into the regular classroom and we can make fewer referrals for special education. These students need a lot of modeling and a clear view of the models. In a classroom of 22 students, this can be a challenge.

The ELMO TT-02S Teacher’s Tool uses a high-resolution document camera to capture 3D objects and images on flat paper so large groups of students can see smaller visual aids. This can be used in all subject areas so that students can see exactly what the teacher or presenter is doing so they can complete the activity at their own station. With the memory card we can also take pictures of each of the steps of the activity which will come in very handy for science fair displays or for absent students to use to make up missed work.

Remember when we were in school and we had to crowd around the teacher to see a science experiment only to have little Johnny's head pop in front and you missed the exciting part. You can help ensure that today's youth do not miss it and can demonstrate their projects to the class as well.
