This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My school is a title one school that has struggled with reading and math scores over the years. My class is a wonderful class that is so excited about learning. I have a wonderful group of first graders, who need more tiem to explore reading and math. Our school is a title one school that has struggled with reading and math scores over the years.
We do not have the books that are needed to connect reading and math. Our library does not have a lot of the books, that I would love to use to help make these subjects exciting. The ones that we do have we only have one copy of so it is hard to get a hold of it for my class. I would like a complete set of math literature for my classroom. Among the titles I would like are Lemonade for Sale, Pete's a Pizza and A Chair for My Mother.
The resources and books that I need will benefit the students by presenting math in another way. Not only will it do a great job introducing a new math concept. It will also expose them to nonfiction text. This will increase their CRCT scores.
