Technology to Keep Students Engaged in Learning!

We are a public high school in a high needs area. My students are bright and eager to learn. I teach US Government, Economics, US History and World History.

Do you take technology for granted? My students have extremely limited access to technology in the school and home environments.

Currently the only resources available to my students are their textbooks. There are three computers in the classroom, however they are at least 12 years old and only one of them will turn on. Having working computers would be amazing, but another resource that we could share together would make even more of a difference to those that struggle to learn using only the book and my instruction. Using a digital projector in my classroom will open the students' eyes to new sources of information and will drive interest in a subject that will provide them with the knowledge to become outstanding and progressive citizens. This tool would be used daily to show visuals, video clips, examples of work, current events, DVDs, and student presentations. I am working to create a dynamic environment for my students.
