Hands On Learning for Students with Severe Disabilities

My students need a variety of hands on activities, including movement cards, a small instrument set, sorting activities, left and right learning tools, vests to practice zipping, buttoning, and snapping, and a reading bingo program.

My classroom consists of students with moderate to severe disabilities. Our class serves students with cognitive and physical disabilities, as well as other disabilities such as autism and visual impairments.

We are hands-on learners! The students in my classroom require opportunities to learn concepts and skills in a concrete way. This cannot be done with paper and pencil. We require materials that are interactive.

Our class would benefit from sorting activities, activities to teach left and right, wearable vests to practice buttoning, snapping, and zipping. We will also benefit from games that include physical movement and reading skills.

Students with severe disabilities require special hands on activities to increase life skills. By donating to this project, you are helping students with disabilities become self sufficient and succeed in life.
