Counseling is a strong component for any student, especially those children that have emotional disorders. I am a guidance counselor and work with students from grades k through 5. All of the students I work with are special education children.

A huge obstacle I have endured this year is providing a comfortable environment for my students. Recently, my school changed a book room into my guidance office on the fourth floor of the building. There is one window, but it provides no circulation in the space. Many of my students have allergies or asthma and are incapable of staying in my room when it is hot. (Literally the walls sweat).

I am looking for an air conditioner unit in my room along with a fan because the students are suffering. I know it is difficult to think about this now in the winter months. But almost all of September, my students could not be comfortable in my room. One student showed the beginning signs of an asthma attack from the heat and I had to take him to the nurse immediately, thankfully everything was alright. I do believe that the air conditioner unit and the fan will provide a comfortable room for all of my students.

Your assistance in acquiring an air conditioner unit will supply my special education students with an environment that is conducive to counseling, mental clarity and physical health.
