Kindergarten: the warm, welcoming classroom where you began building the foundation for a lifetime of learning. I consider myself to be lucky because I teach full-day kindergarten and have a classroom full of wonderful five year olds. Many of my students come from homes with parents struggling to make ends meet, but they come to school every day with a smile on their face, ready to work hard.

I want their experience in my classroom to be one of many good memories of all the fun they had and friends they made. Unfortunately, I'm afraid all they may remember is being sore from sitting on the concrete floor!

My students spend a good part of the day on the floor, listening to a good book or learning about math concepts. A colorful, comfortable rug would be a great way to keep the children focused on the lesson instead of how cold and hard the floor is.

Your help will make my kindergarteners' day! For some of the children, school is the best time of their day where they are safe and cared for. With so much important learning time happening as a whole group while they sit on the floor, a rug is a way to make their classroom more comfortable, more welcoming, and more enjoyable all around.
