I have 12 very special students. They are severely multiply disabled and mentally retarded. They range in age from Kindergarten to 2nd grade although cognitively some may function at a much lower level. We are a Special Education Unit housed in a local Community School.

My classroom is a totally sensory environment directed at encouraging the children to explore the world around them. We use a variety of manipulatives that allow the students to use all five senses in order to learn.

The Theme Boxes that I have asked for will allow the students to work on fine motor skills while learning themes that are age appropriate. My children enjoy being able to touch and manipulate their learning environment and the items in the Theme Boxes will allow them to experience this first hand. I intend to begin with "The 5 Senses" as all my students will enjoy and learn from the amazing manipulatives that are in all the Theme Boxes.

The children respond so well to anything they can hold and bold colors that hold their focus. I believe that the Theme Boxes would be just great for my students! Please help me put that joy into my classroom and my students' education. Thank you
