"I teach theatre arts in a low poverty level high school in South Carolina. I have been hired to start a new theatre program from the ground up. We have no working capital, no budget and no resources.
We are faced with a multitude of problems all relating to the fact that we have no funds. In order to expand and develop the program so it can grow to its full potential, certain equipment needs to be available to the students.
Having a lighting package to light the stage area would allow the students to understand the technical aspects of theatre and what it is like to perform under colored lights. All my students, and all the students in the school, for that matter, would benefit because the student body as a whole will be viewing the performances of these students. When the house lights are out and students are performing as if they are on stage, they are really motivated to succeed!
Your help will ensure that these young students experience a full range of theatre training. You will make it possible for them to gain confidence and this will transfer into other areas of the student's lives.

Dear Champlin Family, Jacob, Eva and Emily,
I am so thankful for people like you who have so generously given to this project! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I would like for you to know that the light system will be used in the classroom to help students in my technical theater class learn about the differences between different kinds of lights and how lighting the stage creates atmosphere. Your contribution truly adds to their education. Thank you! Julie
Reviewed the project essay and sent follow-up questions if needed.

"We gave to this project because having good tech support for their plays will enrich the theater experience for these students and the people who come to see their productions. "
