Our school is a small Southwestern Wisconsin School with a 40% poverty rate. In an attempt to connect students to a better option for further education, our district has an agreement with the state technical school system to earn Written Communication college credit. To compliment the basic business writing skills, I would also like in incorporate moral and ethical business skills. To do this, my class needs 15 copies of Higher Standard of Leadership : Lessons from the Life of Gandhi by Nair.

We are a high poverty school district with a VERY minimal budget for 9-12 English. This type of course allows students the chance to earn technical college credit and thus a chance to earned a post-secondary degree. This is a chance to break the cycle of poverty. In teaching the basic skills of Business English, I would like to incorporate moral/ethical practices of leadership as well.

We already use the Guffey Business English to meet the criteria for the accreditation, but I am also concerned with moral application that will enable them to apply these skills as future leaders. To complete this my students need 15 copies of Higher Standard of Leadership : Lessons from the Life of Gandhi by Nair.

We are a low income, 40% poverty district with extremely limited funding. However, that doesn't mean that my students can't go past secondary school and practice ethical and fair business in a global society. This is their ticket out of poverty!
