Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach seventh grade Language Arts in NJ. We are in an inner-city school district and are in desperate need of technological products to enhance students' classroom experience.

Between my three classes, we are studying The Outsiders and Code Orange. My students would really love to be able to find and view online videos related to the themes of diversity and self-discovery respectively present in these novels. It would also be great if students could present PowerPoint presentations at the end of each unit, and for me to model using Spell Check, making effective online searches, and teach about copyright issues.

Having an LCD projector in the classroom will not only enhance my students' learning experience in the classroom, but will expand their horizons in terms of using technology. Due to lack of funding, my students are not frequently exposed to technology such as computers, LCD projectors, PowerPoint, and other useful tools necessary to today's students. An LCD projector will help narrow the digital divide that is affecting our inner-city school children.

Your help will ensure that my students become competitive citizens in today's digitized world, and will help them discover new talents and interests they never knew they had.
