I teach fifth grade in a wonderfully diverse school in Virginia. Many of the students in my class are second language learners.

My fifth graders have expressed an interest in incorporating video in their hypermedia presentations. However, the video camera we have at school is quite complex and difficult for students to work with. It's very challenging for 10-year-olds to learn how to effectively download and edit with this archaic camera.

The Flip video cameras I've requested are small, easy to use, easy to download, and student friendly. They have a USB jack that can be plugged right into the computer for easy downloads. These cameras would allow me to quickly train students how to effectively incorporate video in a variety of school projects throughout the year. They would also provide my second language students with the visuals they need to connect with academic content.

By funding this proposal, you will motivate my students to enhance their learning and further integrate technology in our class projects.
