Inquiring Minds Want to Know . . . I teach all subject areas to a class of 7th and 8th grade students, who all have severe emotional issues. Most are in my class for the entire school day due to anxiety or behavioral issues that prevent them from taking mainstream classes.

My class has limited science supplies as the materials used in the general education classes are not appropriate for my group. We do an experiment a week but these are very basic. My hope is that we can start using more scientific materials and that the students will have more opportunities for hands on projects.

Microscopes (which my student's have never used), with the larger screens, will provide my students with a new perspective of what they are looking at. The slides will provide them with a start to strengthen their observation and comparative skills. The science supply center will provide my students with multiple new ways to look at science and to try new things. These materials will give my students access to materials they have never used in a subject they do not fully excel in.

Your support of this project will make it possible for my student's to strengthen their skills in an area that is generally difficult for them and to provide them an opportunity to have fun while learning.
