Fire Up Our Book NOOK! I teach second grade in a Title One, low income school district. There are 25 students in my classroom with reading levels which are well below their grade level.

My goal is to create an organized and inviting reading nook which will encourage my students interest in books and learning!Creating comfortable spaces for them to relax with a good book, will allow individual conferencing and sharing with individual students.

I would like to warm up our reading nook, by placing a reading rug where students can sit and read, and I would like to set up chair pockets for students to safely house books they are "borrowing" from our classroom library.

You will make it possible for my students to have quality independent reading time, while providing me, the teacher, and opportunity to meet individual needs of struggling students. One on one time with each student is essential to academic growth.Thanks in advance for your generosity.
