Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Thank you for considering my proposal. My Kindergarten students love to paint. Painting is a good way for them to express their feelings, and also to create something new, to enjoy and discover the colors. Painting in the classroom can also be used as a means for students to show what they are learning in other subjects such as science and art, as they paint scenes that depict plants, animals, people, communities, and the world around them. Please help me establish an art center in my classroom. I wish to instill in my young students a love for art, as well as develop their creativity. The art center would consist of a painting easel along with aprons, paints, brushes, markers, and other supplies that the students can use for art education. With today's emphasis on academics, there is very little money in our school budget for art supplies and equipment. It is only with a grant from an organization such as Donorschoose that I can hope to provide this for my students. In part one of this proposal, I requested an easel to help get us started. In this second part of the my proposal, I am asking for paint cups, paintbrushes, aprons, and other supplies to help us stock the art center. The supplies I have requested are very durable, and should last many years. My school is a multi-cultural, public elementary school. My Kindergarten class includes both English and non-English speakers, as well as students with disabilities. The Art Center will be used by two classes this year, and will benefit many students in the years to come. By funding this proposal, you will be providing art supplies that will help my Kindergarteners develop a love for art!
