Elmo Makes Learning More Fun

My students need a video presenter document camera to help aid our classroom lessons.

I am now a 3rd grade teacher. I was able to move up with the students I had in 2nd grade. My school is located in a high-need community within a suburban area. The school's population consists of an 85% free and reduced lunch. We are a Title 1 school.

Last year, my students were able to use the school's only video projector, known as an ELMO. It was great! I ordered Crayfish for my students to study and observe. Once the crayfish arrived I looked high and low to find something like a video microscope so that the children could see our crayfish up close and personal. The Media Specialist at our school said that we could use the school's only video presenter to view them up close. She said that she thought it would work. It did and it was GREAT! I put one of the crayfish under the video presenter and the students were able to view the crayfish in very good detail. The crayfish moved! The kids screamed! It was great! The use of this video presenter really egged on their natural inquisitive nature. We viewed many more specimens under the video presenter. Some were classroom pets others were those that we were able to catch on the school's playground. The use of the video presenter also helped children understand that life in all forms is worthy of respect. I was able to move up with the children that I taught last year. I found out this year that we could no longer use the school's video presenter. It had to stay in the Media center.

This is where you come in. My students really could use a video presenter in our classroom this year and for years to come. The TT-02s Teacher's Tool, ELMO, would work great for observing different types of things for Science as well as being able to really bring Math to life too. My students gained a great understanding of all of the animals we were able to study last year. It would be great if we could continue to observe different life cycles through the use of a video presenter.

Please help our class get a video presenter for our classroom.
