I teach fourth grade regular education with an emphasis on ELA and social studies. Our public school does not have an operational digital camcorder for use. My students participate with a variety of activities that would benefit from the use of a camcorder. Field trips for example are not possible due to the expense and the limited resources available from our district and students' families. A digital camcorder would enable me to visit sites and bring the field trip back to my students. The kids would also benefit from the camcorder by creating classroom performances, news shows and group projects. I will be able to create DVD's for students to take home and share with their families. Our school's population is at 75% poverty and the number increases each year. Many of my students do not leave their house except to go to school. Bringing a variety of cultural experiences to them will enrich their lives.

We receive less than $200 per classroom and a gift of this magnitude would enrich many aspects of our school day.

The request for a digital camcorder will benefit the students in my classroom as well as the others in the building. The digital camcorder will be made available for use by the entire faculty for school projects and activities.

Your generous donation will empower the faculty at my school to enrich the lives of over 360 students. The power of field trips and group projects will be possible because of your generosity. Please help us in creating a classroom where each child can learn and have the resources available to achieve success.
