Cutting Up In Art Class

My students need a safe paper cutter to create projects of various sizes.

The art program serves students from across the area. Many students come from difficult situations but exhibit a special interest and talent in the arts.

We are lucky enough to have a community partner that donates paper to be used in the art room but the paper is normally over-sized. We need the ability to safely customize the paper size to be appropriate to the students ability and to the goals of the project. The more choices, the more creativity; so if the students can better access a wider variety of papers and sizes their projects will better reflect their creativity.

The donation of a rotary paper cutter will allow the teacher to reduce the need to order paper by enabling the use of large paper. Funds can instead go to materials that help the students skills and creativity shine. A rotary cutter is a safer alternative to the chopper-style cutters found in most classrooms.

It sometimes is the practical things that make a difference. In this case you can make sure that the art room has what it needs to get this project started right. The students will be able to make their own books, sketchbook, and choose the dimensions of their projects to match their vision. The world if full of variety and our students will be better served if they can explore as much as possible.
