Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Open Minds - Open Imaginations! I will be teaching a class of twenty-five reluctant 8th Grade readers. We are a small middle school with limited funds.

Our students come from homes where there are not many supplies or books. Many of our students' families are migrant workers who can not afford these supplies.

Our students would love to have a class set of "The House on Mango Street." This book is comprised of vignettes which will be of high interest to the students. Our class can discuss the novel, complete writing and vocabulary activities.

Your donation to the students would not only be a wonderful gift but the gift to enjoy beautifully written stories to which students can relate.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
