Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Who doesn't want to feel successful? Struggling writers never feel proud or accomplished when they know they have problems with spelling, grammar, and neatness. They have wonderful ideas but can't seem to get them on the page. As a Resource Specialist I have watched my students cry because they become so frustrated with the writing process. Many of my students do not have access to computers at home.

Imagine the pride a student will have when they can write, edit and then publish their own work using adequate technology. I have computers but, my printers no longer work or they have no ink. With the significant budget cuts facing our schools, just getting ink can be a long process.

With a printer for each computer and ready access to ink the students will be able to take their ideas from their fruitful minds to a published document. They won't be afraid to have others read it because they will have been able to correct their errors.

Your generosity will give these students one of the few opportunities they have to feel genuine pride in their written work. They will prove to themselves that what they have to say is worth reading.
