Take thirty students plus one butt worn couch and what do you get? I'm a fifth grade teacher who teaches everything from writing to health (Can you say puberty?) who has inherited plenty of wisdom from other educators. Along with this knowledge came a muted pink couch that I'm sure Herbert Hoover sat on. Our class would love four beanbag chairs. Everyday the students have time to write in their journals or read books of their choice. I turn on lamps, and a normally rigorous classroom turns into a type of poetry lounge, minus the finger snapping. It would do my heart good to see students in comfortable seating instead of always sitting on the floor or on one of Hoover's antiques. Basically, we as a class would really appreciate your support in supporting our butts.
