My students need photo editing software to create photo projects with real world relevance.

I am the teacher of a group of 45 fourth graders. We are using a predominantly project-based program to meet their educational needs.

These children are very excited about any learning that is associated with digital photography and videography. They are becoming quite skilled and very enthusiastic about these activities and the learning that goes along with them. The hurdle we now face is the feeling that they are getting bored. The children want to feel that the sky is the limit with their creativity. With photo editing software they can create endless projects and experiences. We currently are working on many things such as newspapers, webpages, book reports, photo timelines, books, and brochures that would be more applicable with "professional" touches allowed by the software.

We need a photo editing software so that the students may really show some creativity instead of thinking inside the box all of the time. There is a high success rate in the activities and lessons that utilize the digital media because there is no right and wrong answer. It is simply a product that demonstrates understanding.
