We Love Science!

My students need 15 magnifying compasses, an Inflatable Eclipse Solar System, and 256 markers.

All of the fourth graders in our school come to me for science. I love team teaching, and think it is great that I am able to focus on science in the afternoons and allow the other teachers to focus on math and social studies.

Our corporation provides science kits for us, but they don't cover all of the fourth grade science standards. I have created lessons to fill in these gaps, but need supplies to implement them.

We need new compasses for our orienteering unit. Last year, we took our students camping but only had eight compasses that worked! Luckily, we didn't lose anyone but it would put my mind at ease if we had more compasses that worked. We also need the sun/moon/earth kit for our moon phases unit. The students will understand the phases better if they have a visual aid. The markers will be used for many science lessons, everything from stream observation drawings to food pyramid creations! Most of our students do not have their own markers, so if I had a class set everyone could complete the assignments.

You will make it possible for me to meet the state science standards without seeing a look of confusion on my students' faces. Help me show them how fun science can be!
