Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Help our children create a special project that will last a lifetime. I teach 36 kindergarteners with a team teacher. Seven of the children have special needs including Down's Syndrome, Developmental or Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities and Deafness. My students come from a large urban,low-income community. Most of the students speak Spanish at home.

This special project would be too costly for families to underwrite. If you can help us, you would help the children create a beautiful and lasting memory of Kindergarten. We want to preserve their precious little hands by tracing their hand prints and having them imprinted on plastic plates. The children will color their hands and write their first signatures.

I need 40 Create-A-Plate craft kits so our students can each create a special keepsake masterpiece. Children will learn that they are valued and special and each of us is different. They will showcase their newly acquired skill of writing their names.

You will make it possible for our students to create a very special gift for their families. They are only little once. You can help us preserve a special moment in time!
