I am the computer teacher in an elementary school. Every class in our building has one or two periods a week in the computer room, from K to 5th grade, including special education students and autistic students.

The students are very eager to get on the Internet, especially the ones with no computer at home. Of course, they want to go to sites like Myspace, Disney, and Barbie. They need guidance in order to take advantage of the richer content found on the Web.

With a mobile whiteboard I will be able to use our LCD projector to help them navigate the resources found on the Internet. The 5th grade will be able to explore the American Revolution in greater depth. The 4th grade will be learning about ancient and modern China.

Since the reading level of these students are generally below that of many websites, even kid-oriented websites, we will need to explore these sites together. With a mobile whiteboard (to go with our LCD projector), I can be a more effective teacher.
