"I teach in a low income, title 1 school where the students are mostly English Language Learners. I teach Kindergarten, my students are 4 and 5 year olds.
When I was setting up my classroom there was a kitchen set in the classroom but it was in very poor condition. The kitchen set was old and unsafe for the children to use. I had to throw the kitchen away. The kitchens in the other Kindergarten classes were in better condition and they were able to keep the kitchen to further the students learning.
It would be beneficial for my students to have a kitchen to use during center time. Since the students in my class are young learners that speak very limited English, a kitchen will be a great asset to help with language development and social skills.
With your donation you will give these Kindergarten students a true early childhood experience with all learning possibilities.
My students need a kitchen center and play pots and pans.
The cost of this proposal is $657, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ."

Dear Stephanie, Michael, Bill Evans, Cherie, Jon, Tom, Jenn, Max & Charlie, Chris, heather, Nora, Sara Kate, David, Lindsey, MATHEW, Becky, Mike and Mona, amy & bart, Susan and Allison,
I would like to thank you so much for your donation! When I received the email that my project was funded, I was overwhelmed with joy. The students in my class are so excited about their new kitchen. It will really be beneficial to their learning, and all of you will be a part of that.
"I believe if we know more about where it comes from and how it's made, we will fall in love with food and cooking, and we will treat our farms and animals and farmers and moms and dads who cook so much better, and the world will be a better place. I'd love to hear about your class and maybe come help with some food lessons."
"I'm stationed in the Middle East, but I care about kids having the resources they need to learn - I'm glad my love of Apartment Therapy pointed me in the direction of this site!"
