Little Fingers Little Numbers

A set of classroom calculators will give my students a chance to learn the skills that are required. The calculators will not be used as a substitute for learning computations, but will expose them to a simple piece of technology and how it can be used for large computations.

I have 30 students. Out of the 30 students that I have 25 of them are at risk academically. The school sets in a very nice neighborhood however, 95% of the students live in low-income housing.

I have a high energy group of students who performed poorly on the math assessment test. One of the reasons is due to the lack of hands on resources. My students are kinesthetic and audio/visual learners.

I need calculators to provide students with the hands on mathematics that the math series requires, but the district did not provide. By donating to this project students will gain the necessary skills that are used in everyday businesses.

Oftentimes in the workforce we encounter people who do not know how to use small technology. This is often due to the lack of resources available to students in impoverished areas. I appeal to you as a donor to help these third grade students to gain the early experiences needed that will last a life time.
