Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am currently the physical education teacher at a high poverty Public School. I teach grades K to 8th. My students do not have a lot of things to look forward too. One of the things they have to look forward to is volleyball.

The current volleyball net we have is falling apart. We are in need of a new one but do not have the funding for it. The volleyball season has two teams that would use the net.

The net would also be used for gym class. The students can't practice digging the ball out because the old net does not have enough pull to it. Also, the old nets poles are breaking. The net currently has to be repaired all the time, and the poles have bolts that are stripped. The students on the team would be able to practice every aspect of volleyball if we had a new net and poles.

With your help the students will be able to get better at volleyball and maybe play at the next level. If not the next level they would at least be able to master the different skills of volleyball. It would also help me in doing a volleyball unit in regular physical education class. You could make all that possible.
