Let's Get Wrapped Up...in Math! I teach a 3-4th grade self-contained, special education class. We are a second year school that has the core curriculum but not a lot of added pieces to help students who need a different approach. These are the students whom I work with everyday.

These students have been exposed to the basic math facts for 2 years running and continue to struggle. They are now faced with having to learn multiplication and division. Many express a fear of these new concepts based primarily on the frustration they have experienced with addition and subtraction.

My hope is the Learning Wrap Ups will alleviate some of these fears. As the students build up their confidence with addition and subtraction, multiplication and division will become less threatening. This program engages multiple modalities in order to reach all types of learners. Kinestic movement is used to wrap the keys while computing basic facts. The facts are all put to music, rap music, which allows audio learners to engage and learn. The keys and worksheets have great visuals that help those who need visual cues. The combination of these elements is a recipe for success.

Your help will build the confidence of students who struggle with day to day curriculum. It will help ease frustration and make math fun. These students need the generosity of someone who wants them to be successful.
