Our school is an Elementary school in New York, serving a population of 804 students, with 95% of our students eligible for free lunch. Our building is very old, with our coal burning system recently converted to a dual fuel system (gas/oil).

To meet the requirements for the Early Childhood classrooms, sinks were installed in classrooms up to the second floor only. Without plumbing in classrooms above the second floor, we are faced with a dilemma, as our Art Room is located on the fourth floor and therefore has no sink for clean-up after painting projects. While we have some very talented students in our Art Club, painting is somewhat limited as water has to be carried in a pail from the bathroom. At times this is hazardous as spills in the hallway can cause accidents if not taken care of immediately.

For our student’s safety, and to allow more opportunities for working on messy art projects, we would appreciate the donation of a Battery Powered Sink.

Your donation of a portable sink for our Art Room will make it possible for all of our students to not only enjoy their art sessions, but make it safer in the hallway outside the Art Room.
