Dynamic Geometry equals dynamic students! I teach Geometry, Precalculus, and Calculus to 9th-12th graders at a Title I school located in rural Iowa. Our school is quite diverse for its small size, due to a growing ESL population. We serve a high special education population as well, since we are the largest school in a 70-mile radius. Expectations are high for our students, and with the elimination of lower-level mathematics courses, we could really use tools in the classroom that will make math fun and exciting for all of our students.

Since many of our students are visual learners, due to language or learning barriers, it is to our advantage to demonstrate and show dynamic work. In fact, research shows this helps all students to learn, so it would benefit all of our students to view problem-based instruction through classroom investigations.

An Elmo TT Video Presentation Camera would allow our students to see pictures and text projected on the wall of the classroom. Colorful, live displays would enhance the educational experience for all of our students. Our courses are problem-based, so this technology fits well into our curriculum since it would allow me to show why something works or empower a student to present their ideas to the class for all to see and understand.
