Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Can you tell a story through pictures? I teach kindergarten in a classroom full of students with various backgrounds and cultures.

Kindergarteners are natural storytellers. I want to take their ideas to the next level with storytelling through pictures. Using digital cameras will provide my learners with an experience they may not otherwise have a chance to do.

I am in need of 3 digital cameras, photo paper, and a photo printer. These tools will enable the students to take pictures of their culture, heritage, family life, and bring them to the classroom. Students will then be able to write text that is meaningful.

Your help will support my learners in so many ways. Not only will they be able to have their stories heard and seen, but it will also increase their student achievement in the areas of reading and writing.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
