LCD Projector for Environmental Science

My students need an LCD projector that will hook up to the new Apple mac books teachers were given so they can easily see amazing websites, videos, and podcasts that have been created by the Urban Ecology Institute (UEI). UEI has created a capstone course that I will pilot with my students and I want them to get the full effect.

More worksheets is what I want to avoid. By using an LCD projector, my students will be stimulated to learn in various ways by having a wide spectrum of learning visuals available. My urban high school is the city's only vocational high school with a lot of ELL learners and it strives to create meaningful learning experiences for all our students. This will greatly enhance their experience, and my ability to teach environmental science to my seniors.

There are so few supplies available for my students that I thought this would provide everyone in the class with access to excellent web sources that have been created specifically for this environmental science course where we study the urban ecosystems and how they relate to our well being. My first year here I did not have a textbook until late October, so we are very limited for quality science supplies.

This LCD projector will have everyone in the class able to easily view/hear the specific sites created for this environmental science class. This is a visual tool that will nurture all my students, including the ELL students,in grasping some of the concepts embedded in the course.

Your help will allow students to have a firmer grasp of environmental issues and help engender more stewards for our planet. Your generosity will be a living example of how individuals can and do make a difference by trying to bring about justice in perhaps small yet meaningful ways.
